MIDNIGHT, 11/5--DuJour, Gleek, Vampkat; Skycrafts; Phoebe's b'day; & more! [Nov. 2nd, 2011|08:39 pm]
Many thanks again to the crowd that came out last week in spite of the weather issues for our annual Halloween Party! This Saturday we're back to the regular format--with DJs DuJour, Gleek, and Vampkat providing the music; Skycrafts vending; vampirefreaks.com giveaways; new drink specials; free cake in honor of several b'day celebrants, including Phoebe (Dunkelheit/Bound); and more...

Two of our highly talented resident DJs--DuJour and Gleek, both of them request friendly and well attuned to the very newest club music--will be joined behind the decks by "regular guest" DJ Vampkat. One of the new generation of gothic/industrial scene DJs that Midnight has helped to train, she made her professional debut at The Meeting Place almost a year ago. And as anyone who has caught one of her appearances since can attest, she inevitably presents some highly danceable sets filled with both old favorites and new tunes.

Over in the vendors corner you'll find Tim from Skycrafts (http://www.skycrafts.net). He'll be bringing us another outstanding selection of artistic wares, including some designs reminiscent of those from 2008, when he started the project.

Look for some "smaller, more affordable prints with handcrafted, individually airbrushed and designed frames to match." There will also be "new silkscreen and T-shirt/print combinations, some poster size framed prints," and more, with "show prices on everything." T-shirts and 8 1/2 by 11 inch prints will sell for as little as $5.00, and the newer framed art as low as $35.00. Full size (13 by 19 inch) framed prints under glass cost $50.00.

Fall is giving way to winter, and as the seasons change so do the drink offers at The Meeting Place. To be sure, the traditional two-for-one deal remains in force from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Purchase one qualifying beverage at the full/regular price during that hour, and you're entitled to another of the same free any time prior to last call (around 2:45 a.m.).

Then, from 10:00 'til close, TMP's other Saturday bargains kick in. You can now order all wines, 16 oz draft beers, or Captain Morgan cocktails for $5.00. Jagermeister costs $6.00, and Grey Goose $7.00. All prices are plus tax.

Hungry? TMP serves its full menu until about 1:30 a.m. Select something from the appetizer list and you'll save 20% off the price of that item.

* PHOEBE'S & VIGA'S B'DAYS -- There'll be free cake slices available at or shortly after the witching hour in honor of the b'days of Phoebe (Dunkelheit/Bound) and Viga (first prize winner in last week's costume contest). Best wishes also to these folks, some of whom may also be celebrating with us: Kerre, Virginia, Shaina, Jesse M., Mike, Misha, Kim, Caitlin, Thom, and Katja.

* VAMPIREFREAKS PROMO -- Those of you who were out of town or snowed in on the 29th still have a chance to pick up some of the free goodies that Vampirefreaks (http://vampirefreaks.com) sent us. We saved some of the matches, pins, and stickers just for you. For those unfamiliar with it, VF is a super gothic/industrial, social networking community with over 1.5 million members. Its site also boasts digital music and clothing shops, band interviews, and more.

* ENTER THE DRAWING -- Track down our literature table when you arrive, fill out one of the drawing slips, and drop it into the nearby cauldron. This Saturday you could win one of several CDs, including discs from Project Pitchfork and Zeromancer.

* ADMISSION DISCOUNTS -- As always, our first 12 guests in line at opening get in free. Show your current school ID (includes staff, must be 18) at the cash table and you'll save $2.00 off the already low $5.00 cover.

We'll look forward to seeing you out on Saturday. And don't forget to mark your calendars for November 12 as well. That's the night of Midnight's 9th Anniversary Party! Look for the full story on that in next week's mailing. We will give you one hint, however--the always fabulous Asala will again be putting on a bellydancing performance for you!

The aims of acne treatment are to prevent new spots forming, to improve on acne treatment already present, and to prevent scarrings.
